Honouring the whole of who you are.

Portrait of Melanie Kennedy, relational integrative psychotherapist.

Melanie Kennedy is a relational integrative therapist, clinical supervisor, and doctoral trainee in counselling psychology based in London. Her work is rooted in creating thoughtful, emotionally attuned spaces for people navigating trauma, identity, emotional exhaustion, relational difficulties, and the lasting impact of experiences that have left them feeling unseen, misunderstood, or disconnected from themselves.

Alongside her clinical work, Melanie has particular interests in race-based traumatic stress, belonging, power, oppression, and the emotional impact of navigating environments where individuals have had to survive through performance, self-protection, or emotional over-functioning.

She is especially passionate about supporting high-functioning individuals who often carry significant emotional responsibility for others whilst privately struggling with burnout, anxiety, grief, shame, or relational pain.

Melanie’s approach integrates relational depth with psychological insight, cultural awareness, and reflective exploration. Her practice draws from psychodynamic, person-centred, CBT, ACT, and social constructionist perspectives, whilst remaining grounded in warmth, curiosity, collaboration, and genuine human connection.

She believes therapy should not simply focus on symptom reduction, but also support people in developing a deeper understanding of themselves, their relationships, and the wider systems that have shaped their experiences.

In addition to private practice, Melanie provides clinical supervision, delivers teaching and workshops, and contributes to conversations around justice-informed therapeutic practice, identity, race-based traumatic stress, and epistemic harm within counselling and psychotherapy spaces.
